Duncan and Moira loved each other as teenagers, but were torn apart, when her father, the chieftain, found out about their relationship, and thinking Duncan unworthy of her, sent him away. Acting on a prophecy that predicted she was in trouble, Moira's brother, Connor sent Duncan to check on her, and after finding her in danger, Duncan ended up bringing her back with him. This was a wonderful story. No matter how trying things became, Duncan continued to be his sweet self and I loved that about him, even as he struggled to let himself see past the teenage girl he had known to the complex woman that Moira had become. I also enjoyed the secondary story about Duncan's mysterious birth. Great Series! The next book in this series is The Chieftain, about Moira's brother Connor, and is due out in February. I can't wait!
