With Earth unknowingly under the threat of impact with a destructive asteroid, the rest of the universe has decided to secretly loot it’s resources before it’s wiped out. Faro and his brothers have been sent on one such mission, looking to mine resources desperately needed by their planet, and they find shelter at an inn nearby the mine—only the pretty innkeeper is proving an unexpected and unwanted distraction. Faro can’t help but feel drawn to Amy, but his many secrets make it difficult to get close to her. Faro was an amusing, sometimes over-the-top alpha character, and I enjoyed his banter with both Amy and his brothers. Lots of interesting characters at play here, and I can’t wait to read their stories. It ends on a bit of a cliff hanger, but the essential question was settled at the end, so that was enough for me. Eager to move on to Faro’s brothers, and I look forward to reading Blaze and Molly’s story, Frost Fire, coming out January 2018!
