Espionage: Dark Passions by Helena Pearson

Espionage: Dark Passions by Helena Pearson
Espionage Serial, Chapter 1
Publisher: House of Sinn Publishing (July 2014)
46 pages, eBook (provided to me by the author)
Book Rating: 5 Stars
Sensuality: Red Heart

Celeste was hired to spy and steal corporate secrets, but it appears she may have underestimated the man she was planning to steal from, when she wakes up imprisoned, restrained and at Sheridan's mercy. This story contains some dubious consent BDSM scenarios that may be uncomfortable for some readers. I thought the BDSM element was a little more tame/not quite as dark as other similar stories I've read (Skye Warren/Powerone), but I kind of liked that . . . it leaves it so much more open as it moves forward. I'm not sure where this is heading, but I definitely am interested in finding out. I look forward to reading the next installment!

Swinger Style by Jayne Rylon

Swinger Style by Jayne Rylon
Hot Rods, Book 5
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd.(July 2014)
185 pages, eBook (purchased myself for $3.44)
Book Rating: 4 Stars
Sensuality: Red Heart

Now that most of the Hot Rods are involved in committed relationships, Swinger's beginning to feel like the odd man out, and if he's honest, a bit jealous of what the others have, so when he sees the chance to have the same thing for himself with Sabra he knows he should go for it, but he has to overcome the hangups from his past first. I'm not sure why Sabra hung around long enough to see past Swinger's protective walls, because he was downright mean to her . . . but she did, and once he stopped fighting it so hard, it was sweet to see them together. I'm looking forward to Barracuda and Meep's story (I've been waiting for that one for a while). Can't wait! Great series!

The Prince's Ex by Nadene Seiters

The Prince's Ex by Nadene Seiters
Publisher: Nadene Seiters (April 2014)
201 pages, eBook (provided by Author for review)
Book Rating: 4 Stars
Sensuality: Pink Heart

After getting dumped by the Prince, only to be replaced by a fiancée a mere month later, Amelia's friend Tina pushes her to get back into the dating game. Amelia was the sort of self-absorbed, high-maintenance person I've never been, and honestly have never liked, but her adventures in dating were fun and light-hearted enough that I didn't mind that. It was enjoyable to watch her slowly discover the criteria she looked for in prospective men was woefully misguided, and it opened her eyes to someone who had been right in front of her the whole time. Sweet romance!

No Strings Attached by Reece Butler

No Strings Attached by Reece Butler
Climax, Montana Series, Book 4
Publisher: Siren Publishing (June 2014)
344 pages, eBook (purchased myself for $7.99)
Book Rating: 4 Stars
Sensuality: Red Heart

Lila has always been easily distracted and prone to getting into scrapes, and her need to compete with her many older male cousins doesn't help her self-image much either, so when her parents decide to leave on a vacation she jumps at the chance to prove she can handle running the ranch while they're gone, and two new ranch hands (Jet and Houston) are hired on to help her. This has a little heavier BDSM element then some of the others in this series, with Jet and Houston having some formal Dom training that they put into practice. Lila was immature, stubborn and quite often acted like a brat, but she could be sweet too, and once Jet and Houston took off some of the rough edges, I really liked Lila and sympathized with her trying to make peace with her femininity (something she never had any use for in the past and was ashamed of). I liked the meddling family ghost bit, that was great, and I hope to see more of her in coming books. I love the interesting supernatural talents of Lance, along with his crows, and I hope his sons are next. You can't go wrong with Native American Highlander Cowboys! Great Series!
