After a bad start to the betrothal, Callum seeks to improve his prospective bride’s impression of him and makes it his mission to prove his commitment to her, but his past keeps coming back to haunt him. There are a couple situations in this story which ride the borderline of cheating on the part of the hero, and may cut a bit too close to that line for those with a sensitivity to the subject. Siusan was a strong, yet insecure figure, that I found easy to relate to. Despite his lapses in judgment, I couldn’t help but like Callum. He was devoted and loyal once he made his mind up to do it. Callum makes up for his stupidity in his determined insistence to stand by Siusan, and his repeated attempts to prove his commitment to her. This story follows Callum and Siusan’s struggles together before and after marriage, and I liked being able to see them in their life together after courtship. I didn’t need quite so many sex scenes, but others may enjoy that. I look forward to reading the rest of the brother’s stories!
