Laird Brendan Sutherland, having been ordered by the King to take an English wife, heads to England to find and marry Lady Faith of Hawkhurst, a sister of his brother’s wife. Faith is a young woman bent on entering the convent and wears a disguise because she believes she is guilty of the Sin of Eve. She needs to learn trust and to break free from the self-deprecating thoughts others have foisted upon this strong woman. Brendan needs to learn to take down the wall he has built up around his heart to protect himself. This is my favorite book so far in this series. Not only does it have a great love story but it also has a wonderful murder mystery woven into it as a secondary plot.  I love how all of her stories revolve around a legend, and this one begins with a legend, as well. The characters are just as rich and vibrant as the first book in this series, Highland Captive. There were a few editorial errors in the Kindle edition of this book (a few spelling and punctuation errors and a template remnant at the beginning of Chapter 17), but not enough to distract from the wonderful story. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Historical Romance, and I look forward to Book 3 in the Sisters by Choice Series.
