Looking for a break from his usual existence, Jim sets out to stay in a rural hostel, of sorts, unaware of the trouble that seems to surround the place, and he inevitably gets drawn up in the mess. This reminded me of a 60's movie (A Hard Day's Night or Breakfast at Tiffany's), where people say and do strange things, the whole thing being a bit of an enigma, but in an interesting, mesmerizing sort of way. His brief and undefined relationship with Celia just lent extra intrigue to the events. Interesting short read.
