This story is about a young white virgin seized by pirates and taken to an island where the black King purchases her as breeding stock for his people. Annabelle's naive, uninhibited acceptance of her unusual circumstances and future life was beautiful. I also appreciated the confirmation at the end that her attitude was not tainted in the years following. Nice short read!
