After their truck stalls, Kayla offers Dave, Neil and James a place to stay while the blizzard blows over. It gives Dave an excuse to be with the woman he has developed more than a passing interest in. I think I would have liked Kayla and Dave together a lot more if Kayla hadn’t had such a huge chip on her shoulder. I was glad the difficulties were smoothed out without stringing it out too long. I look forward to reading Neil and James’s story in Devon’s Pair.
