After the death of her father leaves her homeless and alone in the world, Lacy heads out in search of her only living relative—a brother she hasn’t seen in a decade, whom last she heard was trying his luck in the gold fields of Australia—but before she arrives at her destination, her coach is attacked by robbers and she’s saved in the nick of time by four men (Chet, Will, Kent and Walker), who take her back to their sheep ranch, hoping to persuade her into becoming the shared wife of all four of them. Short, light historical read, that takes place in a time and place where women were scarce. Interesting Australian version of the Wild West. All four men were very likable and Lacy had just enough backbone to suit me—she wasn’t afraid to cross society's rules and she also wasn’t afraid to try and tackle ‘men’s chores’ or defend herself when need be. Great Read!
